I was picked up to help Nike with the 30th anniversary of the first Just Do It campaign. For the celebration, I wrote editorial pieces about amateur and pro athletes and how they chase their dreams. These short profiles lived on Nike’s homepage and in the Nike+ app.
On the team that won the pitch, I’d been with Amazon Pets’ IG since day one. From concepting larger campaigns to creating and maintaining a replicable voice, my responsibility was to come up with copy and ideas as engaging as the pets we were featuring. And I did. By using every animal pun in the book, we grew our audience into the tens of thousands without the help of paid media.

Some content strategy here, a script there, Banfield had a few asks. Overall, we reworked their site to better meet their strategy of creating central hubs of content (one for Wellness, another for Puppies) for all things pet related. If you take nothing else from my work on Banfield, take this line from the article Why Does My Puppy Eat Poop?: Coprophagia, commonly referred to as “ew, my dog is eating poop,” is a form of pica, which is an improper ingestion of non-food items.
Did I mention I have a patent? And a Grand Prix Award? My genius sister and I came up with an idea that made fitness trackers accessible to the masses. This product got international attention (I was in German Wired, how weird), and the interest of some big tech and wheelchair manufacturers.
Bumble was creating pop-up date shops and needed my client to fill the space with a fun, branded experience. I was tasked with concepting engaging first date activities for the crowds in New York and London. With my too-much experience dating, I came up with and wrote many of the ideas we ended up pitching.
My client had the opportunity to pitch a Comic-Con experience to Hulu for their show, Future Man. Produced by Seth Rogen and written by the same guys that wrote Sausage Party, Future Man needed to be heard in the din of San Diego and nerds.
Working at a creative tech studio in Austin, SXSW was always where we showed off our weirder ideas. I helped create this fitness-based, bitcoin accruing app as well as naming it, FitCoin, and coming up with a bomb-ass tag: Get Ripped. Die Mining.
PHLUR is a digital-first fragrance brand based in Austin. When they picked me up, they were desperately in need of a brand voice. So I created it. I also wrote the site copy. And marketing copy. In fact, I was in charge of words, generally. Only downside: I wasn't allowed to portmanteau the name which made me just phlurious. Check out their site here.
My agency had built Pizza Hut a competent app but they wanted to see what we could do without restrictions. Being a blue sky kinda thinker, I was put on the project. Had the Hut gone with our recommendation, they would've been the first brand with an emoji keyboard and I would've gone down in history books as the genius that came up with the idea.
Freelancing sometimes gives one too much free time. In my free time, I like to give myself tennis elbow by means of embroidery. Sold some. Kept most. It's just one of my favorite creative outlets for my weird ideas.
Oh yeah, I wrote social copy. Working with an agency in NY, I helped create daily campaigns for the likes of Google Play, Sonos, and Capital One.
